Description

A natural phenomenon in the workplace is that standards slide and fall off over time. Even despite an organization's best efforts, steps get skipped and people revert to doing things "the way I have always done it." In this webinar, the 180 OPEX team will teach about this phenomenon, why it happens, and how organizations can take steps to fix degraded performance and even stop the slow decline before it happens again. This process has successfully helped companies in hospitality and manufacturing over the years.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understanding how process decay occurs. Why do standards slide over time?
  2. Understanding how process decay explodes through the error spiral into a myriad of problems that can sink an organization. Why do problems develop into more problems?
  3. Risk Assessment. Using a framework for identifying and laying the groundwork for process improvement. How do you start to fix the problems in your office?
  4. Habits. How to build solutions designed for long-lasting change. How can you design and implement solutions that last, even through staff turnover?

Speaker Bio

Mac Davis, 180 OPEX

Mac Davis
180 OPEX

Mac Davis spent more than 15 years leading maintenance and operational improvement in manufacturing, where he experienced firsthand the challenges of recurring downtime, quality issues, safety incidents, and constant firefighting.

While working to turn around struggling operations, he became increasingly interested in a simple question: Why do organizations keep solving the same problems? That pursuit led him to develop the operational system that became 180 OPEX, a methodology designed to capture organizational knowledge, reinforce standards, and improve execution long after the consultant is gone.

Matt Lyon, 180 OPEX

Matt Lyon

Before co-founding 180 OPEX, Matt Lyon built and optimized complex systems as a product manager in the mobile gaming industry, where success depends on understanding human behavior, analyzing data, and designing systems that consistently improve performance. He is also a licensed attorney and certified mediator.

Matt's background in analytics, system design, and communication complements 180 OPEX's operational expertise and supports the company's mission of helping build organizations that execute consistently.
